North American Indian Designs Stained Glass Coloring Book (Dover Coloring Book)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (August, 1995)
Average review score:

Excellent resource bookThe designs are easily adaptable to many art techniques, especially art glass and mosaic. The designs appear authentic as I have seen similar designs on pottery and other artifacts, especially the Southwest patterns

Old Master Landscape Drawings: 45 Works (Dover Art Library)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (October, 1992)
Average review score:

Good but not greatThis is a very good Dover art book to show the early drawings of the Masters. All the drawings include landscapes. I bought this book to learn how the old Masters did landscapes. It was somewhat of a disappointment because the drawings are very dark and small and the details are hard to make out. Dover should use bigger paper to show landscapes. A lot is lost by the 8.5 by 11 inch paper used.

Old Master Portrait Drawings (Dover Art Library Series)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (August, 1990)
Average review score:

Old Master Portrait DrawingsAs an art instructor I found this book to be a great resource for beginning students of portrait drawing. The variety of style and technique shown is excellent. A few of the portraits were less useful. An excellent value for the price.

Old-Fashioned Floral Iron-On Transfer Patterns (Dover Needlework)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (January, 1993)
Average review score:

An iron on gardenI love these floral designs, I find many of them make wonderful feminine accents to drapes and linens. The designs are easy to embroider and paint, and I've gotten many comments on how tasteful they look in my home. I think they are a wonderful way to put a little springtime into your craft projects.

Good AdaptationThis book will provide a student studying Greek Drama a good understanding of Greek Tragedy by Aeschylus. Clear adaptation that can be easily read. All three plays are presented clearly with a bit of background information relating to it's original format in the Greek theatre.

Ornamental Initials
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (February, 2000)
Average review score:

Handy Collection of AlphabetsThis is a convenient booklet (only 64 pages) of the English alphabet in a few sets of designs available on the companion CD-ROM. I find searching for a appropriate design for use as a drop cap in a document is easier with the booklet than without. Hence I think it is very practical and useful.
However, there might be some of those images that you might want to "re-touch" as they have dots (probably due to the scanning) on them. If the publisher had rectified this, I would have rated this as five-star.

Primitive Art: Franz Boas
Published in Paperback by Dover Publications (April, 2000)
Average review score:

Good but not comprehensiveBoas gives an interesting overview of primitive art from around the world, which is surprisingly similar in many different regions... his explanation of the meanings of apparently simplistic designs will be of interest to those interested in Modern (abstract) Art, which has been very influenced by such ideas.
He has a large section dealing with the art of the Natives of North West North America, which is fascinating but heavy going. I regret however Boas didn't tackle Australian Aboriginal or Maori art in detail since both of these genres have become popular in recent times. Inevitably there are areas which have been left out of the global picture and a comparison with the "Celtic" art revival and pre-classical Europe might have been in order too.
